Thank you for your interest in speaking at APPNATION!
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS INFORMATION BELOW, AS IT WILL HELP YOUR CHANCES IN BEING SELECTED.
APPNATION will focus on social and mobile apps across all devices and platforms including social media platforms, smartphones, tablets, internet-enabled televisions, and emerging platforms and devices. We also welcome hardware, infrastructure, and tools companies to showcase product and technology roadmaps and innovations.
Here are some additional details on what we are looking for:
I. Areas of Focus
We are interested in technology issues in regards to technology being the “enabler” with the bulk of our editorial focus revolving around the business conversation including key issues such as:
- Monetization
- Advertising and Marketing Strategies
- The Impact of Apps on Cross-Platform, Advertising, Content Distribution and New Media Business Models
- The Impact of Apps on Mobile Commerce and Payments
- The Impact of Apps on Local Advertising, Marketing, and Commerce
- The Impact of Apps on the Emerging Internet-Enabled TV Market
- Consumer Insights and Analytics on the Emerging App Economy (consumer consumption & adoption across devices, emerging consumer habits, advertising/commerce, etc.)
- Looking for healthy debate in regards to issues that are controversial or unsettled (Privacy, Net Neutrality, tiered-pricing from carriers, native apps vs. the mobile web, Flash vs. HTML5, reality of 4G, future health of “Big Media”, effectiveness of mobile advertising and networks, and others)
- Product and Technology Roadmaps for Key Hardware, Infrastructure, Tools, and Technology Firms
II. Audience
We expect a diverse audience composed of developers, advertising agencies, content companies, research and analytics companies, industry analysts, professional services firms and executives from across the app value chain including those from hardware manufacturers, networks and operating system vendors, and tool and technology vendors and providers.
III. Format
We will feature a variety of keynote and breakout formats at APPNATION.
A) Keynotes: Keynotes will be solo and “Executive Roundtable” format and we are looking for individuals who have something innovative and interesting to say. We are interested in leaders and influencers from across the app economy as well as those “out-of-left-field” speakers that might offer a unique perspective. Speakers should be informative, engaging, and inspiring (and a sense-of-humor helps too!).
B) Breakout Sessions: We are not interested in large panels. Small panels of 3-4 individuals are OK if the moderator is passionate and well prepared and speakers are committed to staying on topic and educating and informing the delegates as opposed to selling them. We want our breakouts to be informative and more seminar/workshop-style that moderator/panel-style. Most of the breakout rooms will actually be set as “in-the-rounds” or in a boxing-ring seating format. tables We prefer non-“canned” case study and best practices overviews. Review something fresh and tell our delegates what worked and what didn’t. Tell us what you learned. What you will do differently the next time around and what is your actionable advice? Fresh consumer insights and research is always welcomed.
IV. Buyer and Brands
For when it’s relevant, you substantially increase your chances of selection if you can bring a confirmed brand-side representative and / or media agency buyer to your session. Those with the most senior-titles are not necessarily the most desired here. We are focusing on brand manager and mid-level media planners who are directly engaged in the day-to-day investment decisions. Save your most senior executive nominations for the keynotes.
